She was board certified in General Surgery and was a practicing trauma surgeon for 5 years before changing her focus to Women's Health in 1992. Since that time she has specialized in women's health and integrative, complementary anti-aging and wellness medicine.
Her practice involves all aspects of women's and men's primary care, office gynecology, bio-identical hormone balancing, salivary and functional testing, detoxification, overall wellness evaluations, risk reduction/life skills counseling, and preventative medicine.
Dr. Fischer characterizes her practice method as "fostering wellness from within" because it is proactive and patient-centered, root-cause versus symptom focused, and wellness-fostering versus disease treatment oriented. Her passion and thus her mission is to empower her clients with the "tools" to optmize their wellness and promote their own healthy aging.
Dr. Fischer relocated her practice from California to Georgia in 2004. She now practices in Sandy Springs, just North of Atlanta. She is currently a Fellow of the "Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine" of which Pamela Smith, M.D. is the Director. Dr. Smith is a world-renowned physician who is recognized both nationally and internationally as an expert in the disciplines of anti-aging and functional medicine. She is board certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) which she serves as a board examiner. The A4M was established in 1997 as a professional physicians and review board which offers physician recognition in the form of a specialty-based examination in Anti-Aging Medicine. It represents 12,500-plus physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals worldwide.
The Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine is a 2-year program encompassing a scientific-based approach to anti-aging and functional medicine. It focuses on the biological and biochemical uniqueness of each individual client and features wellness evaluations, nutrient assessments, life skills counseling, detoxification, bio-identical hormone balancing, nutriceutical regimines, and other tailored natural treatment protocols as foundational components of medical practice.
